 HOW YOU CAN GET DATA
Not all of our data can be accessed from this website. To get any data from us, you should follow these steps:
- Use our dataset lists, search engines, or email us to see if we have the data you want.
- Look at the individual dataset pages to see if we have the coverage (spatial, temporal, etc.) that you need.
- Get the data, as appropriate to your situation, by:
If you can't find the data you need, we maintain a list of some other sources of meteorological and oceanographic data which may be helpful to you.
It is strongly recommended that you make a backup of your data upon receipt. If you lose data and you want to get it again, you may be charged. This also applies to data that was free at the time that you retrieved it but is no longer available free of charge.

DATA SERVICESData services will vary across our dataset holdings, but many of our sets can be subsetted (e.g. provide specific times, stations, grids), reformatted (e.g. provide the data in a standard format or human-readable ASCII), and used to derive new products (e.g. monthly means of daily data). Also, many of our datasets have supporting documentation and software access codes. You can get access to documentation or software for a particular dataset from the navigation bar on the dataset's web page. To find out whether or not data in a dataset can be subsetted or reformatted, contact the specialist listed on the dataset page. |
