Dear NARR and/or R-CDAS user,
We regret to inform you that we have discovered an error in our processing the CMORPH precipitation data. The error affects the NARR/RCDAS from 1 January 2003 to the present. The impact over land is small, since CMORPH data were used only over southern portions of oceans.
We will however rerun all of the period affected, and will be making the corrected data available to NCDC and NCAR as soon as they become available. We will start rerun from 1 May 2005 to the present first and will continue to run near real time. We then will rerun the rest.
For the NARR and R-CDAS team,
Fedor Mesinger and Kingtse Mo
NCEP
