	Basic Consolidated dataset (ds111.2) updated through June 1998

The Basic Consolidated Dataset (ds111.2) has been updated with the second
quarter of 1998 data.  You can obtain the listing of the volume serial 
numbers containing the data from the file datasets/ds111.2/MASTER
via anonymous FTP to ncardata.ucar.edu.  Or, use a WWW browser and open 
the URL http://www.ucar.edu/dss/datasets/ds111.2.html.  This file is also 
on the Mass Store under the name /DSS/D/DS1112.  

The data files (all in the /DSS/ directory on the MSS) are:

 Y44751         1998APR
 Y44752         1998MAY
 Y44753         1998JUN

	Year-month means dataset (ds111.5) updated through June 1998

Monthly mean values have been computed for the first half of 1998 and
added to the ds111.5 dataset.  You can obtain the complete 
listing of the volume serial numbers on the MSS containing the data via 
anonymous FTP to ncardata.ucar.edu in the file datasets/ds111.5/MASTER, or 
use a WWW browser and open http://www.ucar.edu/dss/datasets/ds111.5.html  
This file is also on the Mass Store under the name /DSS/D/DS1115.

 Y44886         1998 monthly means at 12Z (first six months)

	High resolution ERA upper air data last 5 years to arrive soon

The last five years of the high resolution reanalyses on model levels
have been processed at ECMWF, and are expected to arrive at NCAR
within the next few weeks.  The data should be integrated into our
archive by the end of August.  I will send out a brief note when
it is ready.

For a list of volume serial numbers containing the data, a
description of the hybrid level scheme, and format and software
information, ftp to ncardata.ucar.edu and change directory to
datasets/ds115.4 or datasets/ds115.6.  Or, use a WWW browser and open
