This is the twelfth ECMWF-users' newsletter.  To get copies of previous
newsletters, use anonymous FTP to ncardata.ucar.edu [128.117.8.111] and
change directory to datasets/ds111.2/news.  Or, use a WWW client such
as Mosaic and open http://www.ucar.edu, then select the NCAR Research Data 
Archives.  This will get you into the Data Support Section ftp area with a 
nicer interface.  You can then get into the ECMWF information via the 
information on ds111.2 (under the "frequently used datasets" or the menu
of all datasets).

        Advanced Operational Analysis (ds111.0, .1, .3) update

The Advanced Operational Analysis datasets (ds111.0, .1, .3) have been
updated with the July - December 1993 data.   You can get the full list
of VSNs from the MASTER files from the ftp area on ncardata.ucar.edu.

Changes to ds111.1:  On August 4 climatological deep soil temperature and 
wetness (parms 183 and 184) become analyzed fields.  Also, starting October 5, 
parameters 170 and 171 are given a lev1=7 (was 0), and parameters 183 and 
184 are given a lev1=28 (was 0), and all of these plus parms 139 and 140 
are given a levtyp=112 (was 1).

If you need the details of the new parameterization of soil temperature and 
moisture, let me know, and include your FAX number or mailing address.
