THE FOLLOWING PARAMETER LIST AND FORMAT MAY BE USED TO READ A LOGICAL RECORD:

 1. YEAR-MONTH              Characters 1-4          I4
                            The year and month of the specified record.

    FILLER                  Character 5             1X
                            Blank only.

 2. WMO-STATION-ID          Characters 6-10         I5
                            The WMO 5-digit Station Identifier.
                            99999 = a 3 or 4 letter AIRWAYS-CALLSIGN is present
                            in characters 11-14.

 3. AIRWAYS-CALLSIGN        Characters 11-14        A4
                            A 3 or 4 character AIRWAYS-CALLSIGN, or blanks.
                            Two combinations of WMO Identifier and callsign
                            are possible.

                                A.  WMO ID is present in characters 6-10, so
                                    blanks will appear in AIRWAYS-CALLSIGN.
                                B.  A 99999 in WMO-STATION-ID indicates a
                                    3 or 4 digit airways callsign will be
                                    present.

 4. LATITUDE-CODE           Characters 15-20        F6.2
                            The latitude north or south of a specified station.
                            Negative values indicate southern latitudes.
                            Range b00.00 to -90.00 degrees.

 5. LONGITUDE-CODE          Characters 21-27        F7.2
                            The longitudinal position in degrees west from
                            Greenwich Meridian in England.  Range b000.00
                            to b360.00.

 6. ELEVATION               Characters 28-33        F6.0
                            The station elevation relative to mean sea level
                            expressed in whole meters.

 7. MEAN-MONTHLY-TEMP       Characters 34-39        F6.1
                            The average (mean) temperature for the specified
                            month.  Mean is computed from all paired daily
                            maximum and minimum temperatures for the specified
                            month.  b999.9 = missing mean temperature.
                            Range b-99.9 to b199.9 degrees Celcius.

 8. NMBR-PAIRED-MAX/MIN     Characters 40-41        I2
    TEMPS                   The number of paired maximum and minimum temperatures
                            from which the mean was computed.  If 28 days had
                            paired max/min, this would be 56.  Range 00 to 62.

 9. MEAN-MAX-TEMP           Characters 42-47        F6.1
                            The average (mean) maximum temperature for the
                            specified month.  b999.9 = missing mean maximum
                            temperature.  Range b-99.9 to b199.9 degrees Celsius.

10. NMBR-MAX-TEMPS-         Characters 48-49        I2
    REPORTED                The number of maximum temperatures reported during
                            the specified month.

11. MEAN-MIN-TEMP           Characters 50-55        F6.1
                            The average (mean) minimum temperature for the
                            specified month.  b999.9 = missing mean minimum
                            temperature.  Range b-99.9 to b199.9 degrees Celsius.

12. NMBR-MIN-TEMPS-         Characters 56-57        I2
    REPORTED                The number of minimum temperatures reported during
                            the specified month.

13. HIGHEST-MAX-TEMP        Characters 58-63        F6.1
                            The highest reported maximum temperature during
                            the specified month.  b999.9 = missing high max
                            temperature.  Range b-99.9 to b199.9 degrees Celsius.

    FILLER                  Character 64            1X
                            Blank only.

14. DAY-HIGH-MAX-TEMP-RPTD  Characters 65-66        I2
                            The day of the month that the highest maximum
                            temperature was recorded.  Range 00-31, 99 = missing.

15. LOWEST-MIN-TEMP         Characters 67-72        F6.1
                            The lowest reported minimum temperature during the
                            specified month.  b999.9 = missing temperature.
                            Range b-99.9 to b199.9 degrees Celsius.

    FILLER                  Character 73            1X
                            Blank only.

16. DAY-LOW-MIN-TEMP-RPTD   Characters 74-75        I2
                            The day of the month that the lowest minimum
                            temperature was recorded.  Range 00-31, 99 = missing.

17. SUM-OF-DAILY-PRECIP     Characters 76-83        F8.1
                            The total (sum) of all the reported and estimated
                            daily precipitation amounts reported during the
                            specified month.  bbbbb0.0 = all amounts missing.
                            Range bbbbb0.0 to 999999.9 millimeters.

18. NMBR-DAYS-PRECIP-       Characters 85-86        I2
    REPORTED                The total number of days on which 24-hour precipi-
                            tation amounts were obtained either from reported
                            amounts or estimates.  Range 00-31, 99 = missing.

19. NMBR-OF-TRACE-FLAGS-    Characters 87-88        I2
    SET-TO-T                The total number of occurrences of daily trace flag
                            in the Daily Summary Record File that were set
                            to 'T'.

20. NMBR-DAILY-             Characters 89-90        I2
    SUMMARY-REPORTS         The total number of Daily Summary reports found for
                            a specific station for a specific month.

21. NMBR-SYNOPTIC-          Characters 91-93        I3
    REPORTS-RECEIVED        The total number of synoptic reports received during
                            a specific month.

22. NMBR-REPORTS-PRECIP-    Characters 94-96        I3
    RPTD-PAST/PRSNT-WEA     The total number of reports received during the
                            month whose past or present weather indicated
                            precipitation.

23. SUM-DAILY-PRECIP-       Characters 97-104       F8.1
    AMOUNTS                 The sum of all reported daily precipitation amounts
                            during the specified month.  bbbbb0.0 = all amounts
                            missing.  Range bbbbb0.0 to 999999.9 millimeters.
