The ON84 access routines listed below will run on the NCAR Crays, but will need modifications to run elsewhere. GRIB access software may be found in the GRIB Library . Also note that the access software distributed with the Reanalysis CD-ROMs will access these grids.



     FILE             DESCRIPTION

     read.f  .......... Fortran program to read this data on most UNIX systems.
                         It requires a version of the routine GBYTES which is
                         appropriate to your system (see "libraries/gbytes").
                         It also expects a plain binary file as input so NCAR
                         Mass Store files, which are in COSblocked format" must
                         be converted for use by this code (see the man page
                         for "msread" and/or "cosconvert").

     readpc.for  ...... version of read.f of IBM PC using Microsoft Fortran

     read_dec_alpha.f   version of read.f specifically for DEC ALPHA systems

     read.qsub  ....... Fortran program and appropriate UNICOS script for
                         reading data by submitting this file to the NCAR
                         Crays using QSUB (NQS) (see the man page for "qsub").

     sample data  ..... sample data files for various applications

     readlandsea.f  ... Fortran program to read the landsea data file (under
                         the ds082.0/data directory)

     grads  ......... directory containing codes for creating files
                      for use in the GrADS display system.
