ds010.1 NOTES BY DSS ON DATA PROBLEMSGo to Dataset:

Problems with FEB 1945 grid -

Problems with this specific grid have been reported by
users. Visual inspection of contours of the field confirm
problems. Comparisions with SLP data from Russia (ds012.0)
suggested a possible fix. Grid points at odd longitudes
(15N, 25N, etc.) were shifted 10 degrees (2 grid points)
to the west (ie data at i=3 was moved to i=1, etc.).

The resulting field after this change looks much more reasonable
and compares favorably with the Russian field.

Note that the values at at 80N,155W, 150W, and 145W are
almost certainly incorrect for this month.

As of 20AUG1998 no changes have been made to the data fields.

Erroneous data point at 65N,140W

This problem was reported by users also. Comparing this point
to surrounding points indcates some osrt of problem in the
period March 1902 through July 1909, although 2 months in this
period (jan and feb 1903) look they may be OK.

As of 20AUG1998 no changes have been made to the data fields.
