This list contains information about gridded sea-level pressure datasets in the DSS archive. The datasets presented here represent the better choices of sets from our archive. They are listed according to the length of the period of record and are not necessarily in order of most reliable data to least reliable data. The reanalysis grids are analyses from a single version of a single model for a long period of time. Therefore, biases due to model evolution are not present in these grids. If your period of study spans a large portion of the 1948-on period, this dataset is probably your best choice. If you are looking at only the very recent years, the other datasets are better choices because model evolution makes the most recent analyses the best available at the time. |
